About Kaal Bhairav Mandir

Kaal Bhairav Mandir is one of the oldest Shiva temples in Varanasi, India. Situated in Bharonath, Vishweshwarganj, this temple has fantastic ancient and cultural importance in Hinduism; particularly among the locals. The temple is dedicated to Bhairava, a fierce shape of Shiva and wears a garland of skulls and contains a membership of peacock feathers. The word "Kaal" manner each "dying" and "destiny". It is believed that even dying is fearful of Kaal Bhairav.
Housed within the inner sanctum of the temple is a silver faced idol of Kal Bhairav who's seated on his vahana, a canine and is keeping a trident. Only the face of the icon embellished is visible to the traffic through the entrance. Rest of the icon is included with a bit of fabric. On the rear door of the temple, there may be an icon of Kshetrapal Bhairav, some other thing of Bhairava. Once, the gods Brahma and Vishnu were competing for supremacy. Then Shiva regarded as a powerful divine light among the duo. An irritated Brahma stared on the pillar of mild together with his 5th head, which commenced to burn out of anger.

simply loved the experience.although i have been staying in mumbai since last 4 years, i jus took an city tour ride to know the experience of it . and believe me, it was worth every penny i spent on it. almost 1.5 hrs of eternal peace in between the crowded mumbai city. also after the ride, i have recommend the same to many of my frnds as well. the guide der explained things in an informative yet a sarcastically witty way, which increased spiciness to the charm. overall it was a great experienc
